Lots to celebrate!
I had a great time at the
RWA National Conference in Dallas. It was wonderful
to see so many friends and soak up inspiration from
fellow romance writers for the writing year ahead.
Congratulations to three of my very good friends,
Beth Burgoon, Carla Hughes and Trish Milburn, who
won a prestigious Golden Heart. A big shout out also
to my pal Carridad Ferrer who won a RITA.
Popping the champagne corks for Trish Milburn who
has sold to Razorbill (Penguin)!

Exciting news! I got the call today
that Mortgaged Hearts is a finalist in the 2007 Golden
Heart contest! I'm so thrilled and honoured to final
two years running.

It's been a great month for research!
In fact, I'm devoting a whole page to it shortly -

A
big thank you to Tom Ferreri, Vice President of
Arena Operations at the Continental Airlines Arena -
current home of the New Jersey Devils. He shared
some of his encyclopedic knowledge while showing
me what goes on behind the scenes. As well as giving
me invaluable information, he let me stand at centre
ice and allowed me to ride on a
Zamboni!
Another big thank you to one
of the Devils' greats, Ken 'Dano' Daneyko, a
three-time Stanley Cup winner, whose number 3 was
retired by the Devils. He graciously agreed to meet
with me and answer my questions. His frank, honest
answers gave me useful
insights for Jake 'Bad Boy' Badoletti and
the rest of my New Jersey Ice Cats team.
Finally,
I made another visit to the Devils' practice facility
where I got to see the Devils
in action and meet them!

One of my articles was published
Down Under! Good pal, fellow Golden Heart finalist
and new Avon author, Anna Campbell, alerted me
to the news that "All
you need is a six-pack" was in the December
issue of Hearts Talk - the Official Journal of Romance
Writers of Australia Inc. What a thrill!
I'm so excited that three of my very
good friends have sold! Huge congratulations to Janice
Lynn (Harlequin's Medical line), Anna Scamans (Medallion
Press) and Christyne Butler (Samhain).
A big thank you to the Chairman
of the New Jersey Devils, Jeff Vanderbeek, for
helping me with the research for my current manuscript
