Emily, Tracy&#8217;s niece (and Maggie&#8217;s daughter from <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em><strong>A Perfect Distraction<\/strong><\/em><\/span>), enjoyed making them too. They&#8217;re a fun recipe for youngsters to make as the best way to mix the ingredients is to roll up your sleeves and do it by hand!<\/p>\n<p>Several readers have asked if I would share the recipe, so here it is. These are delicious on their own, served warm, with butter, or with crispy bacon.\u00a0Happy baking!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients:\u00a0(makes 1 doz)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>225g or 8oz of self-raising flour<br \/>\n55g\/2oz butter<br \/>\n85g\/3oz sharp cheddar cheese, grated<br \/>\n125ml\/4 fl oz milk<br \/>\n1 egg<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Preheat oven to 220 C\/425 F<\/li>\n<li>Mix together the flour and butter<\/li>\n<li>Mix in the grated cheese<\/li>\n<li>Add egg<\/li>\n<li>Add milk to get a soft dough<\/li>\n<li>Turn onto floured surface and knead lightly<\/li>\n<li>Roll out so that it\u2019s approx 1\/2in thick.<\/li>\n<li>Use a 5cm\/2in cutter to cut out rounds.
