Zoe Coombs’ perfect Valentine’s date has turned into a disaster. Stood up at the best restaurant in town, with her ex-fiancé and his latest fling two tables over. Perhaps she should have accepted Ethan Blackmore’s invitation instead, even if she won’t chance her heart on another hockey player. But when the sexy, Ice Cats’ defenseman comes to her rescue, she wonders if he’s worth the risk, after all.

When a Thanksgiving snow storm knocks out the electricity, Ice Cats’ forward, Will Hardacre, and his sexy, but workaholic neighbour, Amelia Norris, are stranded on the 45^th floor of their apartment building. A traditional festive feast is out; the best they can do is pool the sparse contents of their kitchen cupboards. Could a candlelit picnic help them discover that they have more in common than their address?

Coop’s Story

Lights, Camera … Turkey!

Cooper ‘Coop’ Johansen doesn’t expect his fresh start with his new team to entail being Mr. November for the Ice Cats’ charity calendar. Food photographer Becca Emory’s Thanksgiving shoot could win her a contract that will stabilise her business. But her best friend’s in a jam and needs her to produce a calendar page for the Ice Cats asap. Combining the jobs should be a piece of cake. After all, how much trouble can a shirtless hockey player and three kittens be?

Ice Cats’ forward, Drake Spencer, hopes his plan to take his nephew trick-or-treating will finally break the ice with his lovely neighbour. Unfortunately, Gertie Noakes is having a bad Halloween; she burned the cookies she promised to bake for her daughter’s class. The last person she needs to find on her doorstep is the sexy, hockey player she’s been trying to steer clear of. Can a quick change of plan help Drake win Gertie over?

Blade’s Story

Who’s the lady behind the mask?

Ice Cats’ forward, Jamie ‘Blade’ Wilkinson thinks his neighbour, pretty schoolteacher, Daisy Carturo, is too good for him. She deserves better than a man with his dark past. When he meets sexy Catwoman at a team charity event, he thinks he’s found a more suitable woman to date. So why does she make him think about Daisy? If only he could have the best of both worlds.

A Perfect Selection 2 is Here!

The garden here in Cambridge is in full blossom, but the weather is more like July, than May. So it looks like spring, but feels like summer. Crazy English weather – not that we’re complaining!

It’s been an exciting time, seeing my NJ Devils exceeding all expectations and making the post-season this year. Sadly, we lost to the Lightning in the first round. But this is the start of something great, I’m sure! Congratulations to all those fans whose teams are still in the running for Lord Stanley’s Cup! And commiserations to those of you whose teams missed out or have been knocked out.

Thank you to everyone who let me know how much they’ve been enjoying the NJ Ice Cats short stories that I’ve been giving away in the For Readers’ section. I’m so glad you like keeping up with my men of the ice.

Happy Easter!

Having survived the Beast from the East — which was more like a grumpy puppy than a growling behemoth — we’re looking forward to spring, here in Cambridge. Although it’s pouring with rain, we have had some beautiful, spring-like days since we moved the clocks forward. And it’s already light until 7:30pm. It looks like our daffodils, snowdrops and other spring flowers survived the sub-zero temperatures and snow, so in a few weeks, we should have a glorious garden.

Thank you to all those of you who told me how much you enjoyed A Perfect Date – my free Valentine’s Day-themed, NJ Ice Cats’ short story. I really appreciate knowing that you’re reading and loving these bite-sized treats.

When I asked you which holidays you’d like to see represented, a popular request was Easter. Thanks to the brainstorming talents of my lovely author friend, Donna MacMeans, we came up with what I hope will be a fun read for you – A Perfect Chance.
